Kindy
The age group is 3-4 years
The maximum number of children is 24.
In the Kindy room, we encourage children to care for each other, learn how to co-operate and consider others and become independent and self-motivated.
During the time spent in the Kindy room the children will follow a routine, displayed in the rooms, which is flexible to meet their changing needs. Activities provided for the children cover all developmental areas, indoor and outdoor play, and are available for all children in the class to access.
The Kindy child shows developing independence and confidence in their interactions with the world. It is important that our staff plan environments that provide a range of challenges for young children but that can also facilitiate their development of a sense of worth and well-being. We want to show children peaceful means for expressing their emotions and managing their environment. This includes fostering positive attitudes, respect for diversity and sensitivity to the needs of others.
Our philosophy for learning is one of play-based activities which allows for the children to ask questions and develop at their own pace. Individual observations are completed on all children and outcomes are measured against the goals set for the children. When a goal is not reached the first time, new activities are planned to allow for the achievement to be attained.
